Howdy all,
I was wondering if there is a way to check the front bearings on my 02 F350 4x4? I'm starting to get some growling in the front end. I'm suspecting bad bearing w/ 78,000m.. Thanks Ed
That most likely is a sealed bearing. If you raise and support the front suspension, spin the wheel and see if you can hear it that way. Sometimes it won't make a noise because you don't have weight on the wheel/ground. Can also grab the top and bottom of the ire and push in and out and see if there's any play that way.
Tuke, there isn't a fool-proof way to check....I found that when mine let go, it was just an annoying rumbling sound that took 4 mos to finally surface amd all , including "factory-trained" didn't find. Take both hub assemblies off and get the reaasurance that way. I got pics of mine that failed, but can't post them. Any sugg? Good Luck

Tuke, I finally got pics posted in my gallery of my drvr side failed needle bearings. It is actually sort of funny. I kindof figured it was gonna take my involvement to get it done right.
2002, It does and I'm sure each case is alittle diffferent, but that particular sound seems to be the commonality of all cases. It is definately worth the 3 hrs spent to check, clean, and re-grease everything. let me know how it goes. Good luck.
