Pricing question...

I probably should know this but what exactly is Ford's "X" plan pricing? Costco pricing? I am wondering if I qualify for either of these for my impending 08' purchase.

Thanks again....Bob

My Costco pricing was inv +$500 but "X Plan" would most likely be better.

The "X" plan is closer to 3 to 4%, not .4%

My 08 F450 stickered for $56,490 and I got it for $53,099. That is a 6% discount for the "X" plan. if you count the $1000 loyalty rebate, it is 7.78%. Here is a window sticker for a exact match (except the exterior color) http://apps.dealerconnection.com/dea...275&modelId=68

Check it out if you do not believe it. I said 'x' plan is invoice, not sticker, and then you subtract another .4%.

How do you get x-pricing? Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question.

Creekowl, some people must not know the difference between invoice, MSRP and aware of that little thing called the dealer "hold back" of 3% . . .

Do a build and price of the vehicle you want on Ford's website. From the summary, take the "invoice" price and subtract 0.4%. That would get you pretty close to X-plan pricing.

X-Plan pricing is about 9+% off of MSRP! My truck MSRP for $53,110, and I paid $48,281. Thats it!

This off of www.FordDirect.com,

The X-Plan Price:
As an eligible X-Plan participant, you may purchase or lease eligible Ford Division vehicles at a special, predetermined price. This price is 4% over the Ford Employee (A-Plan) price, plus $150. Generally this price is below the dealer invoice price, saving you hundreds, even thousands of dollars on new Ford Division products. Dealer Participation in the X-Plan program is voluntary and determined on an individual basis; however, most dealers actively participate and are eager to accept your business. Vehicles may be purchased/leased from dealer stock or ordered.

Try this link, it might take you to the Ford Direct X-plan customer pricing.

I am pretty sure the information posted by Geaux-Fish is for the "Ford Partner" X-Plan, i.e. the X-plan offered thru ones employer. This is a little different than the "Friends and Neighbors" X-Plan where you get your X-Plan PIN from a Ford employee/retiree. Here is the information from the "Ford Employee/Retiree" website.

X-Plan Pricing Formula

X-Plan is a pre-determined price based on dealer invoice or A-Plan price depending on brand. The X-Plan price is noted on the dealer invoice (except for Land Rover and Jaguar).

Ford/Mercury
Dealer Invoice - 0.4% of Invoice + $75 Administration Fee

Lincoln
Dealer Invoice + 0.6% of Invoice + $75 Administration Fee

Volvo
AZ-Plan + 2% of AZ-Plan

Land Rover
Dealer Invoice + 4% of Invoice (excluding Regional Advertising Group fee and destination & delivery fee)

Jaguar
Dealer Invoice + 4% of Invoice (excluding Advertising Association Fee and destination & delivery fee)

Bob,

You should be able to find someone to register you Ford's x-plan, even the dealership if they really want your business. I bought a loaded out 08 King Ranch which stickered at $54,500. On that vehicle x-plan amounted a $5,000 discount plus I rec'd $1,000 discount for their owner loyalty program. My trade was the 05 King Ranch with 45K miles and they paid $28,000 just to give you a little perspective. By the way you will get better mileage on the new one.

Used X-pan pricing/Thanks everyone

Really appreciate the info on x-plan pricing. Mentioned it to the salesman, initially he did the backstroke but then talked to his manager. I walked out w/ 2008 Black F-250 Lariat 20 inch wheels 4x4 package loaded at below invoice. I was going to settle for 2000 above invoice before reading this thread. Thanks alot.
