Seems to be a lot of this going on these days. Mine is a 99 with the 4.6 V8, only 60K on it. Since my change of employment it hasn't been driven much, only when absolutely necessary due to gas prices. Last time I drove it the service engine light came on & I have all the best intentions to get the code read, but we all know about "best intentions...". Yesterday I drove it to a job about 90 miles 1 way, as I was leaving the house it stalled in my driveway pulling out. No biggie, I thought, maybe it's just cold. Started right back up & ran fine. After picking up my buddy we filled it up & went to the job through horrific Chicago rush hr. traffic, ran just fine the whole way. Once we got to the job & went to back in the driveway, it stalled again & this time wouldn't start at all. Cranked like crazy but didn't seem to be firing. After trying a few times & getting some "gestures" from inconvienced motorists, I shut the key off & tried again. This time it fired right up. Of course I worried the whole day about getting back without a breakdown. Got home without any problems. Today we go even further in for another job. Good thing I have AAA deluxe.
Anyone know of any issues with this one? Thanks.

 

I got the code read & it's the IAC motor. Makes sense the way it was acting, now I just have to get one & try it.
