guys,
here is the problem, got an E40D Transmission and a 302 pushing out more horses and accelerating quicker than it is supposed to, overdrive on the selector will not trigger the electronic overdrive.

How do I Hardwire it to come on when I need it?
Oobical
Not sure what you want, here is the wiring of a Transmission Tester that I built for overriding the PCM and checking transmissions.
not sure how many gears an E40D Transmission is supposed to have but what i was told it is a 4 speed transmission with an electronic overdrive gear mounted on the back. the truck shifts through all four gears but does not go into an overdrive, so i have to almost redline to do highway speeds. what i want to do is manually engage and disengage the overdrive. i just wanted to know if i can run a hot wire to a wire to have it come on by a switch.

And E4OD Transmission has Four gears with the fourth gear being Overdrive.
Sounds like you may have a bad TPS sensor.
It sounds like you may also have a very low gear ratio, do you know what it is?
You do not have an electronic overdrive gear mounted on the back of the transmission.
They may have been talking about the transfer case for a 4X4.
well if that is the case, how do i gear up to go faster? i would even be willing to swap transmissions but i would need a direct bolt on transmission from another vehichle. i would like to have a 5 speed automatic. any ideas? and the transmission is geared for towing and the truck is not a 4x4.
