I was wondering if any fellow FTEs are running wheel spacers or adapters? I have a problem with my new 37s rubbing on leaf springs in tight corners, i know the little tricks to do with the steering stops but that 1/2 is huge in parking lots Any input?
I wouldn't do anything like that because you are already gonna over stress the hub bearings with those meaty tires..Now if you had the dynatrac kit installed that would be a maybe or even yes because of the older style bearing design and space between the bearings and load capacity. If I were you guy's I would do that kit in a heartbeat..
holy crap... $1800 thats alot. i can buy 4 sets, yes sets, of front hub bearing assemblies for that...you can just swap the hubs to the manuall hubs too.
Better than your wheel falling off at an intersection LOL. Think how all the chebby guy's will talk when this big monster tire comes rolling past there truck.
well, my X will never see off road. thats what my dodge is for...see gallery. and i already have new bearing assemblies on mine. i think the dynatrac kit is for the person who plans to do some moderate to heavy wheelin. not me..if i had the $$$$under the mattress, then yup, i'd do it..
no sir. i get the correct offset for whatever truck i buy wheels for. there are some wheel spacers out there that are meant to be abused because they can tak it. they are made from billet alum. and my wheels and tires aren't that big to need them.
Do you know anyone running them? Ive seen those ones and they look stout enough, i was just trying to get some feedback from someone whos had them, or can attest to their strength
i have a set of 2" spacers sitting in the garage waiting to go on, going to install them next week when i do my ball joints
i have talked to several people who have run them with no problem
if you get the spacers that just push the wheel out you wil have a problem keeping your lugs tight, if you go with an 1.5" spacer that bolts to the hub and you wheel bolts to it then you have to cut your stock studs off shorter, not good
that is why i went with the 2" billet spacer bolt them on with some lock tight and if i need to remove them later i can
I am running a 1/4" spacer which is just enough to offset the tire. so it only rubs at full lock a tiny bit on the leaf. I don't think I would go any bigger than 1/2" top
