Ford rebate checks?

I've read that some have received an added rebate check when they requested a brochure from Ford. I received a brochure the other day but no added offer. Is this something that is totally random? Is there any other way to get one of these offers? Are they only good for the person who received it?

Sorry, thinking of the 1K compensation check the 08 owners recieved regarding the TSB.

Too bad Ford doesn't give all of us 6.0L owners a few K for our troubles...
