I bet you the guys at Beans would have cut you a deal if you went through me, lol.... If I would've known you were gonna go with them I would have helped you out. For some reason I thought you were gonna go with the DIY injects.
Like said above by Plowman, Enjoy while it lasts cause one day you wont be able to.
Truck is done....it was outside when I drove past the garage ....stopped in...they were welding my hood the next morning...this morning...the idiots that had my truck before had notched out the hood so it wouldn't lock down anymore....Unsafe...not necessary either....oh...and looks like they painted my pod.....tomorrow...I finish putting in the gauges....wiring and all...AND I INSTALL MY TW CHIP!!! WOOHOO!!!
Has the smile slunk from your face or are you still at that point of smiling to were your so happy nothing will ruin it? lol, I want some pics of you rollin that coal brother!
I agree with Cuda, you probably still have air in HPOP system and fuel rails. It should work itself out after about 50 or so miles. When you do the chip install make sure you clean the connectors on the PCM REALLY good. Use a small piece of Scotch Brite pad and a small screw driver. Also take the cover off of the PCM, (four screws) it makes it easier to clean them. Good Luck and keep us posted.
The gauge were a bitch to put in....I fought that darn boost tube 'till the end...and now have HUGE flutter.
It's not a simple install....whoever said it was...come see me, I'll tell you about my day.
The easiest was putting in the chip....only the chip. Running the switch....where I wanted it it....beside the wait to start light was a pain....wire was about...6 inches too short...ARGH!!!
Ok....done...oh wait...have to reposition my tweeters...cause of course I had them mounted on the a pillar....can't just do one...have to move both...
So the truck purrs to life....first thing I notice...is the idle....way better....smoother and sees a bit faster.
OK....her goes...lets go try it out.
First pos..stock...NO WAY!.....the truck is way faster...and smoke comes out
second pos....tow....same feel as first click....
third pos....80hp econo....not much difference....not enough to say
fourth pos....a bit more smoke....does not see that much quicker
HUHM!!!!!....BIG HUHM!!!!!.....have to call Tony on Monday if figure it out
Came back from a 5 click test run....truck smell of burnt oil.....dunno from where...will investigate.
OH... THE BIG F@#$ UP....the garage put the Pyro....AFTER THE TURBO.....after I told them the driver's side header...I WILL TEAR INTO THEM ON MONDAY....you guys will hear me down south I can garantee it...
If it eases your frustration a little, I don't have a pyro guage in my truck, and I read on these forums about guys needing / wanting them installed pre-turbo on these little engines, even the guys over on the dodge cummins forums.
BUT, I have owned 5 different big trucks with 450hp to 550 hp CAT and Cummins and all of the pyrometer probes on those are mounted behind the turbo.
Can't tell you why, but I didn't relocate any of them, I just left my confidence in the engineers at CAT and Cummins to know where is the best location for the pyro probe..............
Basically. If I was you i wouldn't sweat it. Temps will be different but monitoring change in temp should be the same, IMO
Im post turbo mounted as well. I fel safer that way, just in case the little bugger decides to break off, it will just shatter some unsuspecting motorists windsheild instead of eating my new turbinator. It dosnt really matter where it goes. All about where you want it.

P.S- Any chance you can record you chew some ****??? I'd love to see that!
