Has anyone converted their 1/2 ton to a dually rear? I've been thinking of doing this. I've also checked out some of the dually conversion kits but was thinking of just swapping my 9 inch out for a F350 dually rear. Anyone do this swap? My truck is a 85 F150 4x4 with a 351HO and C6. Any info is appreciated.
Are you doing this for looks or are you wanting to get more hauling capacity out of it? The amount of work you need to do will be determined by your goals for the build.

You won't increase your payload or towing capacity by much with this swap. There is lots more that goes into how much a truck can safely haul than just number of wheels.
Frame strength and brakes are the two most overlooked areas. If you put 5000 lbs in the bed of a half ton, guess how well those single piston calipers are going to do stopping that load?
And you *will* fatigue your frame by overloading it.
I guess I meant that I would like better load managment. I'm thinking of putting a slide in camper in the box and pulling a trailer with 4 atvs. I know what you mean about overloading the brakes. I just did the brake system upgrade on my 76 last year. It made a world of difference.
