Have an 06 psd, edge juice with attitude, 19k miles on her. Engine light came on so I put edge in stock mode, ran her for awhile, then unpluged everything and put back to completly stock, then plugged obdII tool in and came up with PO299 Underboost. Truck runs fine, so reset and drove for a few miles, no engine light came on. Does anybody have any expirence with this code and if so what fixes or problems came up. Any info please..
maybe a sticking turbo? 06 year is more sensitive because all the trucks started to go cali emissions. if oyu say the truck runs fine, drive it. it was probably stuck and then got unstuck.
I had the exact same problem about a month ago. The first time it came on I had just started the truck up....it was idleing. I cleared the code off and about 90 miles later it came back on as I was coasting to a stop. BTW mines an 06 F-250 CC. I took it to the dealer and they said there was a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) on this issue. My service writer said sometimes they'll try to clean out the turbo because the vains are sticking but because they have had limited success with this in the past, it would be better to just replace the turbo. I had it back the next day with a new turbo installed and havent had any more trouble out of the beast!! It doesnt seem to have the diesel knock/rattle as much and the turbo lag isnt as noticable and it seems to spool up quicker when I shower down on it. I might also add that even though it had thrown the check engine light I did not notice any change in performance. Good luck!!
