I finished installing my new air filter but Im not sure what to do with the CCV tube that used to go into the air intake system . I see guzzle recomends running it to the rear of the truck but is that a must ?
thanks
Scott
you better do it ASAP, cause fumes from CCV will make you PUKE, and you engine bay will be covered in oil, so you have to reroute it asap, for now justdo it to the bottom of the truck, or just do it the way it should be done,
I ran mine down to the rear of the truck by the gas tank. Many others also route it straight down the engine compartment like its done on commercial vehicles.
The clear vinyl hose is in a different section but it works well too, 3/4 inside diameter whichever you prefer. I chose clear to see if and where the oil pools up so not to create blockage Ran mine out the rear by the fuel tank and dumps down, certain times it smokes pretty
ive ran my 6637 filter before and never done anything with the ccv, just left it as is, and everything seems fine, no smell or nothing??? im confused, should i be doing the ccv mod if i am running the 6637?
I think you may want to vent the ccv out the rear or out the bottom of the truck atleast so not to clog your filter with oily fumes. I think if you havent done the ccv mod at all your fine. Dont quote me on though

You don't have to do it. Most due it to keep the oily mist out if the intake system to prevent the pesky oil buid up, which can lead to leakage out the intercooler boots and/or Y pipe boots.

cool, thats what i thought, i want to do the ccv mod, but i read on here a while back that a guy did it but his froze in the winter time due to condensation (i think) in the line he ran, and where i live it gets pretty darn cold in the winter, so for now i live with oily boots, and washing the engine a little more often than others,
You can always install a homemade liquid trap near the engine bay to capture vapors and condensation. I just installed my own version of the homemade unit last weekend. Pics are in my gallery.
The price for not doing the CCV mod, however, is more than just oily boots and more frequent engine bay cleaning... you also end up with all that oily "goo" collecting and building up inside your IC and turbo. The end result is poorer IC performance due to it's dirtiness.

I plumb it into the exhaust pipe and it creates a vacuum there.
