Well that truck I replaced the IDM in, We finally got it fixed. After replacing the IDM, it ran great for about 15 minutes, Then we lost most of the #8 cylinder. Then we lost the whole left bank. Not sure whether it was a bad injector causing a high resistance in the comon, or what. We pulled the Valve cover off to look and found the connector to the gasket on the inside nearly disconnected. Connected it back up and she ran like new. Pretty sure that loose connection is what fried the old IDM. Luckily it didn't get to the new one.

Wow, good job! That musta drove ya guys crazy trying to figure it out. When i get the covers off again im making sure those connectors are not going to come off.
Yep, the connector will separate again unless you fixed the problem..The plastic locking tabs warp. You need to use either Ford's plastic clip fix.. or i just made a shim 1/16" thick and slipped behind the tabs.. Both of mine were loose and causing miss fire of an injector.. Glad you found the problem..
