Needle bearing question
Have 96,000 on truck, bought at 92,000. Talked to original owner, he said he hardly ever used 4 wheel drive. Have the auto/ manual hubs with shift on the fly of which Ford says are maintenance free which after reading Guzzle's way of removing and greasing needle bearings know isn't true. With so little use of 4wheel drive would they be in need of service at this time?

Before I start...the standard disclaimer...'I am not a mechanic, I'm an owner'. That being said;
Needle bearings are in use anytime the hub is turning...I think. So, if this IS the case, then I would certainly pull the hubs and check them out. It's one of those 'BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY' deals in my opinion.
