Is it possible to improve the turning radius on a '78 crew cab. I would like to improved the drivability of my truck. I also pull a camper with it and more manuverability would be better.
Rear Steering. It would diffinately work. But would cost quite a bit to have Great control. If you can tolerate poor control, then it could be done pretty Cheap.
Kinda Out there, But you'ld have a great turning radius four a Crew cab.
Ummm...get a newer crew cab lol...they have a slightly better radius....you could also put smaller tires on it maybe?? Fact of the matter is ya cant do much about it.

If you have to ask how to do that, then i can't tell you. :(
(dumb huh?)
It can be done, but you are on your own, Jack. :)
What size tires you running?
2wd?
PS?
I can now turn from the left turn lane and not have to hop the curb if there's two lanes. Before, it wouldn't do that. Your wheel base is prob'ly longer than mine so you're gonna hop that curb (or have to stop and back up) anyway, with the same level of modification?
Too bad I didn't take "before" measurements of the turning radius huh? :/
Not sure but figure the "after" measurements wouldn't mean much since there are so many variables in the measuring?
Guessing the difference to be 3+1/2 feet.
BTW, my pickup steers better than it did -new-! :)
That applies before -and- after the turning radius modifications.
Hmmm... since yours isn't going to respond as good as mine did... take yours to a shop and talk to them about putting all the stuff under it from a newer F250 that has the dog-leg radius arms?
You and the shop might need a gaggle of lawyers to draw up the friggin papers tho? :(
Naaa. Modifications like this are just something you have to do yourself.

thanks for all your "help". I will actually check the bump stops. The inner fender rubs on the left site when at full stop, but that is because it is warped. Power steering does need some work, but fuctions now. I am running 31" tires all around, I may try some smaller on the front to see if that helps, but I do like the size tire i have. Thanks again.
