It has been raining in my area for a couple of days now. Anyway, I got in my truck with my 9 yr old daughter and she told me her seatbelt was wet. I also noticed the same thing when I put on my seatbelt. It seems to be wet in the retractor boxes where the belts retract into? I checked under the truck and didn't see any rust holes (I'm gonna do a thorough inspection this weekend). I was thinking that I might need to replace the seals around the door, but they don't seem too bad. Could it possibly be the cargo light seal? I'm up for any suggestions. Wet seatbelts suck! Thanks!
Same thing has happened on mine. It was the rear window weatherstrip. Came in right behind the driver seatbelt. When it rained hard the belt was wet.
I was also thinking it might be the weatherstripping, but both belts were wet inside the retractor box, not outside. I'm eventually gonna replace all the weatherstripping anyway, whether that's the problem or not. Thanks!!
Dry the truck out inside, get the garden hose and slowly work your way around the truck. Be patient because it may take a while for a slow leak to show. Been there, done that on other vehicles.
