Cool 91 slider question

some punks(I suspect) tried to rip my truck off...took hunks out of the rubber of one of the dividers as well as left prints on the ctr pane...
A, can the ctr pane be removed to preserve prints as it seems local PD arent into doing so for small peanuts type stuff.
B: can the divider bar be replaced or does the entire window need to be replaced

If the window isnt serviceable except as an entire assy, how is it attached to the truck...its a supercab...I also got same question about attachment of the rear side glass as they tried to cut the window out and really f***ed up the rubber and paint...

from what I have gathered it sounds like they are both prolly bolt ins....let me know ASAP as I got a date with my adjuster on Thurs.

Thanks guys, cs65

do any of you know of local PD that do fingerprint smaller type crimes as far as cars go....Im curious

I had my truck stolen a couple of summers ago so I know how ya feel and there was a full hand print in the dust that was behind my amp and they didn't bother to check it

the rear sliding window does not come out on it's own the only time have seen them come out is when the whole window is out and you very carefully flex the frame and work it out and back in (thats how I fixed mine) now the nasty part you have to remove the rear intior to get to the bolts that hold in the rear window the stuff is not very forgiving as I tred to flex mine outa the way and it creesed and one piece cracked so I was off to the scrap yardyou gotta get it all loosend off so you can slide it foward then attack the window

The Police don't do anything at all anymore when it comes to theft, or attempted theft. I had my stereo stolen in the So Cal area about 25 years ago, and there was a perfect handprint on the inside driver's window where the jerk had put his hand for leverage to reach in and grab the door handle. When the officer came out to take the report I showed him the print, and his words were "Unlike the movies, we don't take fingerprints unless we have a suspect." I could not believe it. I was thinking, if you take the print, you will have your suspect!

Last year, some jerks stole all four Pony wheels off my V6 Mustang, and the Police did not even show up to take a report. They told me to file it online. Two weeks later when I spotted my wheels on an '85 Mustang GT painted flat black parked on the complex. I called the Police, and they just filed a new report. Never came out, never questioned the owner of the Mustang nothing... I sold my Mustang to a junkyard, and I heard later, that someone had stolen the Mustang that had my wheels on it.

Jesus, we must have the only decent theft cops around here. My truck has been broken into not once, but twice. Both times they have fingerprinted the hell out of my truck (still finding dust occasionally). Never gotten my radios back, but at least I know the guys are in the system, and that makes me happier.

They were quite creative in their printing as well, such as printing the bottom of the release latch to make the seat lean forward, my leather flight bag, etc.

The old man that owned my truck before me locked his keys in and decided that the rear slider looked cheap to replace. He found out the same as you have that its $300+ to fix. My 94 has carryover glass from the 92 and earlier gen so your looking at the same deal as my truck had. Definately sucks, and its easier to break in and get in other ways then the REAR SLIDER of all things! You might try plexi-glass or lexan. It might be flexible enough to pop it in and if you have the old hardware (latch) is can be properly functional as well.
