Id imagine throwing it in 4 low and trying to pull a tank out of a ditch might break something lol. Id guess youd loose a u-joint cap/ear whatever you wanna call it in 4 low if the t-case didnt let go first. Supposed to be pretty tuff though so who knows. Id guess the driveshaft would be the weak point weather at the u-joint or yoke or the actual tube itself. Is the driveshaft a 2 piece on these trucks?
I'd agree that the U-joint would be the weakest link in the equation and not the 1-piece driveshaft.
However, I don't think you would ever get enough traction to break something off or "in half", ASSUMING that it is a smooth take-off from a stop. NOT flooring it with a slack chain attached to an immovable object. Even them, the weakest link may end up being what it attaching the strap or chain to the truck.

I thought the weak link if not the u-joint would be the rear glass when the tow chain snapped and hit the glass. Jim
I would say that the weakist link would be that thing you attach to your hitch. I forget the name but george, u know what it is, i sent you the link the other day for it. It basically goes into your hitch and it has a hook. So it basically gives your truck a 3rd tow hook, but in the rearend.
Well...if you keep trying to pull something and it doesn't move and you're still too stubborn to let off the gas, you can fry your tranny due to the TC overheating the fluid.
So, yes, George. The truck will let you know when it doesn't want to.
Try and stick to moving things that are within your tow limits or things you KNOW for a fact you can get rolling. Like your girlfriend here....
If you are trying to "pull" anything you wont break a damn thing I dont care how heavy it is. You will just lose traction. If you try and "pop" something really heavy you will break all kinds of things.
When I say you can "pull" anything no mater how heavy Im using your example of pulling something out of a ditch or along those lines. Im not talking about hooking up 50,000lbs and towing down the highway, that would be stupid.
Just what kind of "tank" are you talking about pulling? An old water tank, a bang bang type military tank? What are you gonna pull?
