differences in 3.0

differences in 3.0
I need to know if there are any differences in the 3.0 as far as the balancing of the flywheel, crankshaft, and harmonic balancer from the pre-1990 motor to the post-1990 motor. I just switched my 98 ranger motor out with a rebuilt long block that was spec'd for 87-91 and now I have a vibration that gets really bad above 3000 rpm. I put the flywheel and harmonic balancer from my motor on the new motor because it didn't come with either. I'm thinking it could be the harmonic balancer since my old motor had 153,000 miles on it when I sucked up some water and threw a rod.
