Just finished our first road trip with my 2007 E350. Everything is stock, 4:10 rear end, and I have always put in Power Service Diesel Kleen (1 oz per every 3 gallons). I left Michigan with only 2,000 miles on the vehicle.
Going down to Florida (1,300 miles) we averaged 18.9 mpg, with a best single tank of 20.1 mpg.
Comming back to Michigan, pulling a 10,000 lb travel trailer we averaged 9.7 mpg, with a best single tank of 10.2 mpg.
Considering my previous E350 with the V10 gasser got about 6 or 7 mpg pulling and a best ever of about 13 mpg not pulling, I'm pleased with my Power Stroke!!!
The 4:10 really pulls, but my RPM's at 65 MPH are at about 2,200 rpms which seems high from what I've heard others talking about here.
I'd appreciate any comments on whether this performance seems OK or not.
I also have an 07 E350 and my numbers match yours exactly. 2200 rpm at 65. Also I have gotten as little as 8.5 and as much as 10.3 towing my 8000 lb travel trailer. I think the high rpms at 65 is due to the 4.10, but if you want the high gcwr you need the 4.10. I have 3400 miles on this truck and am currently on my first trip and 1500 miles away from home.
