Leak

I'd take it back to the windshield place and have them redo it. My money's on the windshield leaking. It's actually pretty common on SD's especialy when replacing the windshield.

Windshields are an obvious possibility but check the roof channels, have seen a few that were starting to get cracks on the edges.

Question Water leak inside

zss,

I've had the same problem, long before I had my first windshield replaced. Now on my second. The water is not associated with the windshield seal. Where's it coming from? Don't know. I live in North Jersey and am having the same problem this morning. When the weather lets up, I'm going to resume troubleshooting.

The easiest way to tell if it's coming from the windshield. Take glass cleaner and spray it all around the outside of the window until it foams up liberally. Next take an air compressor and blow from the inside around the window. If it leaks you will see bubbles on the outside. I would also like to state that leaks are not common on S/D trucks. Crappy installations by auto glass techs are common on all vehicles. I hate anyone who can't take the time to do the job right!

it is coming from both sides. on the drivers side i am getting water in from the hidge of the door. were the vent is right below there it is coming in i can see it is coming and going into were the fuse box is and were the latch for the hood is. it must of shorted something out b/c with the key off and out the trucks radio works as well as the windows also i can hear something making a noise. it also *****ed my horn's relay because my horn will go off for about 3 min turn off and turn back on again so i took the relay out.

as for the passanger side it is coming in the same place as the drivers side and also from the top b/c it is dripping from the holy**** bars on the a pillars. please help. i cant go another day with out him. and i want to stop the leaks.

Most places offer a warranty,if you know who put it in. The only advice I have is leave it to a profesional (sp). I've seen plenty of cob jobs in the twelve years i've been doing auto glass. It's not a do it yer self job!

I would sy yes. Even if they seal it and it stops leaking, the trapped water in there could cause rust. You can have someone remove and install it. Usually cost under $100. If it's leaking that bad it should be salvageable. Good luck.

let the truck dry off and reinstalled the relay. so far so good. i looked at the weatherstriping for the door the upper one and i guess when the window was changed they cut alot off of the weatherstripe and somehow the water is getting in from there. just ordered the weatherstrip kit to change all of them hopefully it solves that problem. thank you.
does anyone know what else the horn relay controls?? so i can check it is still working?? dont have a manual??

Check above the fuse panel. a little black magic box called the GEM (Generic Electronic Module) can get moisture in it and cause the trouble.
