Truck Problem
Hi, I have a 1998 Ford F150 4x4 with the 4.6 V8 engine. My problem is that in the morning it has hard time starting. Like this morning it took seven tries before it finally started. It would satrt, but make a really wierd noise like something was stuck shut. It finnaly did start after mutiple tries, but was making that weird noise. It only does it when it is cold. It only does it for a few seconds, and than idiling is fine. I think it must be a sensor or something is stuck. Any help would be appreciated

It could be your throttle position sensor is sticking. There is a spring loaded valve in it that will sometimes stick. It can be easily cleaned by removing the two bolts and connector. You will see the assembly when you remove it. Spray some cleaner in it(not WD-40) and carefully cycle the valve. A very easy job that my do the trick.
