429 misses under load
OK, here is my problem and I hope you can help. I have a 429 in a 69 ford F250. It is a new rebuild with an MSD ignition, wires and coil. It ran great when I first fired and I drove it for around 350 miles. It now has a severe miss. Seams to idle OK, but when but under a load, will hardly run. It backfires and misses. I changed the coil (3 times) and it seemed to clear up for a brief time, but then starts up again. I swapped carb, no change. I took the distributor, coil and wires out, but them in a box and sent them back to MSD to have them checked and they came back reporting there was no problems and everything checked out OK. I have moved the ground on the distributor, rewired the whole truck, changed the ignition switch and pulled out what little hair I did have. Any Ideas?
