so i have just shimmed the carrier down 1 1/8 inchs vibraion is almost gone very small vibration left not sure if i should shim it more or just leave it and live with it ,1 1/8 inchs seems like alot already what you guys think ?
yeaht hat probably right. just make sure that the two piece shaft has a slight angle change at the carrier bearing. its bad for it to be straight. I forgot when I told you a half inch. the superduty guys need to shim their just at stock height so you are probably about right with what you have.
well what i am useing is 3/8 flat bar, first time i put two 3/8 bars = 3/4 inch shim vibration was better but still there ,, then i put 3 = 1 1/8 inch and the vibration was even better but you can still feel it alittle ...soi am going to try 4 can't hurt ... but i will makes sure the drive shaft is at an angle at the carrier bearing .
thanks . i''ll let you no how it went . bloodline_f250 you can find lifts for your truck at rocky mountain suspentions i forgot the site just google it .
Umm no the tire shop said to drive it for a month to let the kit break in. I'll keep you posted ! But I must say though i really like the look of my truck now !
Ok so i have a question for you guys. What is the weight differance between the IDI and the powerstroke .? I want to know because my camber is still out and im thinking of sending back my powerstroke springs because they are lifting the front more then the axle pivit backets are.......... causeing the camber to be out ... And the IDI springs aren't so stiff so im thinking it mite sit lower with them and correct my camber ? Any thoughts ?
how far out is the camber? too far to be adjusted with the sleeves? i just put add a leafs on my front and i have a slight angle with each side of the ttb. it's been a week and i think mine has settled all its gonna settle. so i am going to throw it on the rack tomorrow to see how far out the camber is. i am afraid i have the same problem you do. my camber is visually obviously way out. hope it can be adjusted. i used rough country stuff. the people are real helpful that work there, jury is still out on whether it's a quality product.
Well i got different springs sent the powerstroke springs back and got the springs ment for a IDI diesel not powerstroke much better there 5 springs the powerstroke ones were 6 springs to stiff and lifted to much . The camber looks way better geting a wheel alighment tommororw hope it go's good. And the ride is much better with the IDI springs way smoother i would say better then the worn out stock ones . So if your going to buy a lift from rough counrty shim carier bearing , and DO NOT ORDER powerstroke springs .. haha
