Ok.... one more and I'll stop asking questions for a bit
My cruise control quit working last summer. I'd like to get it going again. It's totaly dead, and I've checked the fuse.
Any ideas how to troubleshoot this? Does anyone have a Ford manual they can look in and maybe tell me the steps? I've got access to a 1993-1994 Ford Truck manual, but I think it might be too new to troubleshoot this problem.
The first thing to check is the vacuum lines. If the vacuum line is off or cracked, this will keep the cruise from working. This is a common cause of this problem.
Mine quit working, and I traced it to an ignition on hot wire that was dead. Rather than spend a bunch of time tracing it, I just ran another accessory hot wire to it, and it had been working ever since. I think the wire was color coded white. You can check it with a VOM to see if it is dead or not.
