The tow hooks where taken off by the previous owner when he installed the body lift. I'm trying to find a cheap OEM ones to see if they will fit or not, because normally when a body lift is installed, you cant use the tow hooks, but i believe on my truck they will, it looks as if there is enough room.
The whole air filter thing, when i first had the 6637 on, it was pulling on the boot at the turbo, so i tried and tried and tried to get it not to. After no luck with that i got a piece of 4"45*pipe and tried that but the same thing was happening, it was pulling the boot at the turbo down i did not want it to fall off, or rip. So after trying a few things i finally got it to not pull on the boot, what holding the filter up is the radiator hose clamp, and the battery. It sitting right on top of the 2. The body lift really messed with installing the filter.
All in all from start to finish, this whole project took about 6 hours, and 4 of them was cutting the grille to fit and look good. So install on the light was about 2 hours since I forgot to look at what to cut in the header panel, so the right side took about 1.5, and the left side took about a half hour.
Ha i noticed the guy taking a leak and the filter as well as the absence of stacks when i first viewed them, but i wanted to get right to the point with the stacks question
Im going to get the mirrors eventually, but i first want to make so they can be at least power, since my truck doesnt have power mirrors, but it has power windows and locks.
John, its not too hard to do. I was in the same boat. Power windows and locks, but not power mirrors. It was a half day affair, but not hard at all. I will try and find the thread where I posted the full break down of how I did the install.
What I did to prep the grille was to measure about an inch and then i taped it off and scared it with a razor blade to prevent the chrome from chipping. Then i used a die grinder with a cut off wheel to cut the grille. I cut everything behind it as well. Then i test fit it, and used a file to take off what was necessary after that.
This mod was the first I did when I bought my truck back in 05 (mirrors, grille, badges)- everything except the headlights. They were still way too expensive so I got the projector style instead.
well, i am selling the projector headlights w/ corners along with the summit racing wiring harness upgrade and 2 sets of silverstar bulbs now.
if anyone is interested, PM me . They are gonna go cheap.
