Did the Tremec 500 or 600 trans. ever come standard in a car or truck. If so what model, year ? I know the Tremec T-56 did. But I like to put a 500 or 600 in my p.u. because they are stronger and I can move the shifter closer to the bellhousing. Its not a race truck, but sometimes I have been known to go through the gears. But I only have a 4-speed now.
Yes Adrian ! I know trucks did never come with a tremec. But I was asking like if the ever came in cars. Like camaros,Stangs,or vetts. Ford truck have 5 & 6 speeds but they are a lot diffrent. Built for towing. Towing is not what I am looking 4.
Chev S10s and some others came with T5s, otherwise this was a car trans.
I've heard you can use some parts from the chev trans to move the shifter forward, not sure. These folks were quick with a reply when I asked about a T 5 into my E150.
I did some research and from what I found out was the Tremec 500 and 600 are improved versions of the T-5(offered in mustangs) 500 and 600's were never offered in a stock car. The T-5 is not the same as the 500 but is the closest thing to it, and is strong too. Anybody correct me if i am mistaken.
Later.
