95 explorer rear shocks

95 explorer rear shocks

so this is my first time replacing shocks on my truck and the front where pretty cut and dry but the rears look a little tuff the top of them (going up to the cargo area) has 2 bolts holding them in but the nuts are facing torwards the cargo are so i cant really get to them to well is there a trick to them ? Thanks

Well i just used a few wrenches and pentreating oil .It took a bit of time because they were a bit rusty. It is a close area to work in but if you drop the spare tire it gives you a bit more head room.After you get them off the rest will be a snap to finish.

I just heated mine up.

You might run into trouble with the bottom bolt as it is probably rusted into the sleeve of the shock. I ended up heating it up and using a lot of wrenching.

For a few days to a week before you plan on doing the repair, keep some penetrating oil handy and spray the nuts/bolts one or two times a day. This should make them much easier to get off. I prefer PBlaster.
