No hard feelings here........I just dont think a F250 could beat a Mustang GT but maybe the Mustang you were talking about was a V6.....I dont care, I just hate this thread cause really the 5.4L is a good motor and every one is bashing it or the V10 or the 6.4L...what ever they do atleast they do there jobs and thats that.

We have a 5.4 in our F-250 Super Duty and it isn't bad. We plow with it and it does a good job. If you put a load on it you know it's there. It is nothing and never will be like my new 08 F350 diesel but depending on what you use it for it can get the job done it may just take a little longer.

Why is the V10 a better engine? I am not talking power here, that is far down the list of what makes a better engine imo. Is the v10 more reliable? Better mileage? Easier to maintain?

Next truck will be a diesel!

This thread is still going? Who moderates this place?

On a rare 6.4 PSD note, you guys that own one of these beasts rock. I'm seeing more and more of them on the road and they look great. They don't sound "whistling cool", but they look cool.

I am a mason and work my trucks .In my experence the 5.4 is that it a very solid motor that on the highway gets decent milage. The only downfall is when you need torque-there isnt any.If you want a big grocery truck or a crew cab to drive a crew it is tough to beat a 5.4 If you need a work truck take another option.

We have a couple of Government issue F-350's with 5.4L 's and they do the job just fine, yes if you load them heavy it is noticable but none the less they get the job done.
