Ok hopefully someone here can help me. I have an 89 F250 with a 460. A few weeks ago I replaced the fuel pump and figured I might as well do a tune-up while I was at it. Replaced fuel filter, oil filter, plugs, cap and rotor, etc. Now it keeps flooding. It runs fine once you are upto 55mph but at when first starting out at stop and go in town speeds it is flooding and dies. Once is dies you have to leave it sit for 5 minutes or so then it will start again. For some reason it is getting to much gas but I can't figure out why. Any suggestions?
i agree on the FPR. By the way, welcome to FTE! You can check it by pulling off the vacuum line, it should be dry. If its wet with gas then you need to replace it.
I agree but I would also check the pressure at the fuel rail. I had a bad regulator allowing 100 pounds at the rail but the regulator itself was dry at the vacuum fitting.
Sweet deal then, problem solved in 5 posts. I feel special. Just think, if you would have brought that to a shop, it would have been 50 bucks for the FPR, and another 50 or so for the labor.
