distributor gear removal

Whats the easiest way to remove the gear off the distributor? I bought a 94 roller 351 & it has the remote mount tfi module. I have to change to a distributor mounted tfi. I bought a distributor off e-bay that has the tfi mounted on it, so im wanting to pull the steel gear off the 94 distributor and put it on the distributor with the tfi on it. Im positive its a roller motor & not roller ready, because I pulled one of the lifters out & it is a roller lifter. I just dont want to eat up the cast iron gear, thats why I want to switch on the steel one. the truck is a 1990 model by the way. any help would be appreciated

You need a gear puller, a simple 2 or 3 arm deal will do. Drive the drift pinout out of the gear, and pull it off with the puller. Installation can be accomplished with a press or large vise and appropriate sized sockets.

Mark the gear to the shaft...gear must be reinstalled the same position...not 1/2 round off. Usually there is a dimple near the roll pin hole...usually needs to line up with the tip of rotor.
