Any experts on Autolite 4100 carbs? Have a `56 f-100, mild 312cid
with 3 Pots on offenhauser manifold. I want to change to a autolite 4100. Want to know if a 1.08 venturi or a 1.12 venturi 4100 would
give me the best performence and mpg. The cfm of 1.08 seems a little
small [480] and the 1.12 [600] seems a little much. Anyone with any
experience or expertize. I leaning to the larger [1.12]. Is it better to
have more cfm than needed rather than less? As you can tell by my
question I dont know to much about carbs but know I want a Autolite
4100. Thanks
LxMan1
With your calculations looks like the 1.08 is perfect, But I think I`ll take
your advice And go with the 1.12. Was sort of leaning that way anyway.
Thanks, LxMan1--I appreciate.
Either would probably work, I actually meant to type the 1.08. But the 1.12 should run good as well. With the vacuum actuated secondaries, it will only open them as far as the need to be.
LxMan1, Thanks again. As you can see I was looking for good info
but really wanted some back-up [read agreement] for what I really
wanted to do. Anyway glad to hear you feel the 1.12 v. should
run good as well as 1.08 v. Thanks for your expertise.
