Ok. It seems impossible to find any seats for my 96 f-150 to replace the bench seat except the 800 dollar ones on jc whitney. No luck at the junk yards either. I am wondering if there are any seats from different vehicles that will fit. There is a place in town that will mount them for me but I am not sure what I need to look for. I am not mechanically inclined to mount them myself if they are not a direct bolt in. Any suggestions on seats? Maybe Dodge or Chevrolet. I would like them to still be able to sit a 3rd person but have a flip down console in the middle with some cup holders!
I will trade you striat across. I have the funny bucket seats with center convertible armrest/console that swings up to make a 3ed seat. they are gray and in perfect condition . you cant lay down or sleep in this type of seat. you come here and I will do the work. or I am sure you can find some one closer that likes to sleep in there truck once in a while.
You live a long way from me!!! If you were closer I would swap them out with you in a heart beat. My seat is in perfect condition but it doesn't feel very comfortable to me.
Have you tried Explorers? Expeditions? I'd bet that you could find those seats pretty easy......junkyards have a lot of older Explorers with buckets and 60/40 with the consoles around here.....not many pickups at all.......and the ones that are here are picked clean.
I'd think they would be a pretty easy changeover too.....but lots of measuring is going to be essential.
No idea about other makes.........probly would take a lot more to make them work.
I haven't tried anything other than trucks. What year explorer's do you think would be good? I haven't looked at the junk yard for anything else besides trucks. I didn't realize it would be that hard to come by.
Other than seats from the same body range (87-96) you're not going to find a junkyard, direct bolt-in solution.
If you have even one mechanically inclined friend, you can make ANYTHING fit.
I have chrysler minivan seats in my F350 crewcab in the front - way more comfy than the bench seat (I need lumbar support for my back).
In my old 75 Dodge pickup, I head power, heated, leather Town Car seats.
Just a matter of measuring and making brackets. Any fabrication shop, or a body shop, can make them easily enough if you provide the new seats of your choosing, and the vehicle.
Bronco seats should fit pretty well. I swiched years on an F150 mine is regular cab and the buckets are from a newer F150 extended cab. Had to drill new holes in the floor, and back them up with large washers. Pretty easy job.
Good luck Frank
I put buckets out of a Neon in mine. They don't really fit too well. I can't slide them back quite far enough. They sit a bit higher too which, actually, I like since I have the headroom. I'll be swapping soon for something made to fit.
Any seat from 87 up will be close style (not exact) Find seat bases for 80-97 bronco they are common . If can't find seats . And mount 95-98 explore and 99 up SD should work or be easy mod. Or any other seat if find some with fab work. As for the center seat you will find consoles 98% time . I have seen seat average $350-600 just for 2 bucket and console but have seen jumper seat (common mostly to reg cabs & crews there were exceptions )
Go for $300 its self . Be warned that allot of factory bucket have arm rests and you will have to remove them to use jumper (will have 2 holes per seat) .
Other than drilling (put some reinforcing on new bolts ) Like style buckets are direct swap . Good luck on search
That website has the best deals I have seen yet. I think that might be the best route since they are brand new. I just found out yesterday that I may be out of work in a couple weeks so I don't think it's a good idea to spend that much until I find another job!!!!!!!
The cheapest seat in the truck section called the "Replacement" says in it's list of features "Like New replacement seats". Like new to me suggests it's reupholstered or slightly used. I'm not skeptical enough to say it's not worth the price though.

Attaboy frederic! I told my wife the other day that I like 'em when they get some age so I needen't worry about resale value. That way I can modify 'till my hearts content.
