I have a 75 f100 4x4 that i just attempted to rebuild the carb on cause the enrichment valve was shot. got it running but now I am getting a popping noise thru the carb. doesn't happen at idle or when revving the motor , only when uinder a load, mainly at lower rpm lvls when trying to accellerate quick. I am mechanically inclined but know crap about carbs. First mistake was probazbly trying to rebuild it mysefl but im a cheap *******. Has a motorcraft 2150 2bbl carb. Any help would be greatly appreciated. O yea, it has no choke assembly on it cause i got fed up tryin to make it work and just scrapped it all together
SWAG... ok more of a WAG... sounds like you're too lean in the "low speed circuit".
Since it wasn't doing that before, sounds like some thing's plugging up one or both the low speed circuit jets? The low speed circuit jet is at the bottom-end of the small brass tube inside the larger emulsion tube. Which are all crammed into the bottom of the "booster assembly".
Using jet reamers i reamed my low speed circuit jets. It'll run pretty good without the accelerator pump hooked up even. So I have that set on the lowest hole.
sorry if i posted it in the wrong area. I was thinkin after readin that it may be to lean. has a small hesitation then a single pop thru the car then takes off.
