I saw it in pleasanton and some of the stuff was really cool on it. The engine had a sweet twin turbo set up on it with some amazing welding and fitment of the heat exchangers. Alot of **** to pack into that space. The twisted in front fenders were also interesting and gave a different look to the truck. And when he started it up, it screamed. Either way, I think the ingenuity of a build like this can be appreciated.
Awww, you guys are so narrowminded. Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder. Relax, and slip into the darkside.. (reeeaaally dark!) Pablo Picaso and Salvadore Dali were misunderstood also.
The only way to really appreciate this truck is to realize what it took to get there. It is a great example of what can be done if you have an imagination and the talent to make it happen. No, it is not for me either but it is very impressive and well done.
is it me or are those rear fenders greatly oversized? I would have liked to have seen the front fenderwells pushed forwards ala Chip Foose and the bottom and front of the truck made visually lighter to better be in scale with the sectioning to give the truck a long sleeker look. I would have also dropped the bed rails down to align with the paint break.
AX, they look oversized to me too...but I think they are normal size with the bed shortened front to back, and maybe even top to bottom. With that, and the cab and front chopped/sectioned, it makes the rear fenders look bigger than they should be. With the chopping/sectioning, it almost looks like the truck was built 90% to scale.
saw this on coverage of Goodguys DelMar. I don't like the look, but admire the talent necc to do it. But doesn't it look like some toy truck from Walmart shelf?
Looks as if it just drove right out of Toon Towne w/ Roger Rabbit @ the wheel.
What's its name? "Acid Trip?"
Yup, many of us must bow down to this much tech capability and patience.
Sure is extreme though, a "Dolly Parton" of effies!
Lots o talent no doubt. The "new look" big band mixed with the "old school" nerf bar/pulled fenders sort of gives the whole thing a mixed up look. I just have to wonder what we would be posting if he were a long time poster/builder on FTE. I also wonder where he spends his web time. Jon
I think if he hung around here we would have known about this truck before now. So many rods are bought not built today. I went to a local car show here a couple years ago looking to try to find a good local pinstriper. Every vehicle that had well done pinstriping I tracked down the owner to find out who did the work (about 8 vehicles). I got the same answer from every one of them: "I don't know, it was already on there when I bought it." How disappointing!!!!
and I was worried that the general public would think my son was ugly,,yeah it's cartoonish, lots of work, but....why? I feel really bitchy saying that cuz my boy's not a conformist, but there is that physicians oath "first do no harm" if it was already butchered in some drastic way..then you gotta cut the guy some slack..We worked with a lotta what we had on my "son".
O.K. after a 2nd look i'm pissed, kev your'e right about the picasso dahli remark (motorhead..who knew.) but its so distorted it makes my bast*** son look normal..yeah tons o' talent ,,,but to do that to a 56' of all years!!! god, what a travesty. Okay..probably an unwelcome observation but it's not like a whole lotta you guys bother to talk to me anyway..so whatever.. the 40/50's trucks are hot cus they are marlyn monroe, curvaceous and voluptious, like a sexy woman, that's why they are so popular, It took me forever to figure this out, but think about it guys, you'all like the lines of the trucks..they havent bulit anything remoteley like that in a hell of a long time, since the last stepsides and most of them were (cough) chevys....think about it.
