Question OBDII Error Code

I have a F150 4.9L 6 cyl 4X4 and I am getting the following error code.

P1407 EGR No Flow Detected.

This truck has had wiring problems due to ground squirrels.

Could this error be caused by bad wirring, or should I start looking at a new EGR valve/sensor?

I am going to assume you have the pressure sensor system instead of the position sensor system, but look at the egr valve to make sure. If the egr valve has wires coming off the top of it, then you have the position sensor.

If you don't have the position sensor on the valve itself, then you have a flow/pressure sensor system in the pipe that goes to the egr. Follow this pipe down, and somewhere along the way you should see some small hose or hoses coming off the pipe. These should lead to a sensor. Make sure the lines are in good shape, and the wires to the sensor are in good shape.

Thanks for the help, I have the flow/pressure sensor system and it turned out to be a cracked vacuum line to the egr valve. Cleared the error code and will drive around to see if that fixed it.
