I know the 6.0 issues have been beaten to death but I have to ask this. A while ago, when talking to a guy who had a fleet of PSD's, he mentioned that he had some luck with dealers honoring repair claims after the warranty had expired, referring to it by some alphabet nickname, like AW something. Anybody heard of this?? I just picked up an '04 CC PSD 4x4 and it has just over 100k. It runs great, that's why I bought it and it seems to have had real good care, almost babied. But I went in to my local dealer today to have a car inspected and there on the ground, with the cab in the air, is an almost identical rig in for head gaskets. Needless to say, it didn't make my day. So, here's my real question: If you've got a 6.0 that made it to 100 are you pretty much out of the woods as far as the head issues are concerned? I know it could go tomorrow like anything else but what are your experiences on a stock truck?
mine just turned 100 this weekend according to the oasis report it has never had head's replaced but i did take it into the dearler when it had 99k miles for white smoke issues and I got a new trubo ,egr valve, & egr cooler. i think the more you read about the 6.0s the more paranoid you can get, just remember that more people post if they have problems they need fixed and don't just post to say how good there truck is.
My neighbor is the service manager for a Lexus dealership and they call them customer loyalty/goodwill moneys. They have a certain ammount of money available to them from Lexus to "help the customer" in just that situation.
Ford's program is called AWA, or After Warranty Adjustment. Each dealer gets a certain amount of money to cover out of warranty repairs for their best customers.
