Tranny question?
i ownna 1979 F-150 4x4 that came with a c-6 automatic transmission. The question I have is will a c-6 from a early to mid 80's 4x4 fit in my '70 if I have all of the necessary parts. I know they are both c-6's but I do not know if they share output shaft lengths or diameters etc. They look alike but I wa just wondering if there were any minor differences between the different years. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank youy very much..

Years, no. Bell housings yes.
Assuming you have a 351m/400, you would need to find a 80's+ donor from a 460. The diesels and the 300/302/351w use a different bell pattern.
