EEC-IV codes - guess which component?
I'm getting -
33 - EGR valve opening not detected
from current conditions and -
334 - EGR closed voltage higher than expected
from memory.
Any guesses on whether it's the EGR valve or the EGR position sensor?

PS: autozone.com says the EGR valve for my vehicle (90 Bronco / 351) is not testable with a vacuum pump?
If you have a lot of miles on that EGR, you might want to replace both the EGR and the sensor. It's not cheap but will solve the problem. Unless of course you like a challenging science project.
You can test the EGR valve. Unplug the vacuum line at the valve and plug it with a golf tee or a vacuum plug. Connect a vacuum pump or source to the EGR valve. Start the engine, and then apply vacuum to the valve. The valve should open and the engine will die.
You can also test the position sensor by connecting a vacuum pump to the valve with the engine off. Connect an Ohmeter to the sensor and check the resistance of the sensor as you apply vacuum to the valve. It will change. I am not sure what the specs are for the sensor, but it's a start.
Good Luck!
