Just a quick question. Should the guide pins in the caliper hanger be snug on disc brakes? I noticed tonite that all four of my calipers are somewhat loose to the touch and am wondering if they should move.
Not exactly sure what you're asking, but the caliper itself floats on two pins attached to a bracket, otherwise it wouldn't be able to exert force against the rotor. I think what you're probably describing is normal.
Have someone mash the brakes while you're looking at it; they should tighten up plenty.
Most people have the opposite problem -- the guide pins end up getting frozen in their holes and brakes end up dragging or not engaging completely.
