44's

hey everyone, i'm lookin to get 44's and was wondering what you guys think is the best lift size/brand to get that'll clear 44's and how much does the lift cost? i was thinking 12" but that might be overraised, anyways, i'm lookin at first doin the performance upgrades so that i can turn those size tires over, and my truck is the one in my sig/garage so let me know what ya think about 44's and the lift

whatever axle i have stock is what i'm gonna run till i get enough time/money to either scrounge for a new one or look in a junkyard, doesn't my truck have a d60 stock? and it has 4.10's which should help those tires roll easier

He has a D60 up front IIRC....

But...
those 4.10 gears won't do the job with 44" tires, diesel or not. The amount of increased wear on your TC will be bad, but not as incredibly as your XTR3M3 mpg's...

If the truck in question is the 97 F350, then yes, it is a D60 and 9" of lift will clear 44" tires if you're mall crawling as long as the front bumper is trimmed. Ask me how I know. Kind of nice when most 44" sized tires are only about 42 inches tall.

Oh, and don't use WELD wheels with a Powerstroke....I was advised that the "lifetime structural warranty" does not apply with that much weight on big tires. That and a few other reasons......

haha well i'll be using the truck for mudding/daily driving, but i really don't care how it actually rides on the road... i'll be mudding like every weekend with it, and also random days throughout the week...

How much do you like your fenders?
The more you like them, the more it's going to cost you be able to clear those 44s.

Like previously stated, 4.10 gears won't do it.....
5.13s will be needed, stronger u joints, depending on how much lift, you might need longer driveshafts with high angle cvs on them, ect..... Figure the price of things like that, or you'll regret it.

alright what bout 40's? haha i know a guy with the exact same truck as mine (but with 40's and lots of performance stuff done) and he hand builds EVERYTHING for it... so i can't really ask him about lift kits although he's probably just as smart as the smartest guy on here... but back to 44's! after the summer i'll have enough money to really beef this thing up, and i'm planning on doing this once my tires wear down... and seeing how my tires aren't that old, maybe 9-10 months and only 5k miles or so... i should have enough money to do this stuff by then

i still think your going a little over board on tire size for a daily driver/ woods truck... 38.5 will be more then enough to match your needs... and alot less harsh on your drive train.. can clear those with a 6 inch lift... np...plus you wont have to have extended drive shafts and so on i think.. dont quote me on that

Ive got an 86 F350 with a 2 inch leveling kit and 37x13.50's with no rub. A 4 inch would just clear 38.5's, and i think i could clear 40's with a six inch
