My 1993 Bronco has a sweak. I think its in the area of the belt. Sometimes it sweaks and sometimes it doessn't I have put a new belt on it but it continues. I lubed all the pulleys. What next? I can take and push down on my belt and the tensioner moves up and down. Anyone have any suggestions? PLease let me know, this is driving me crazy.....:-(
Mines doing the same thing right now. It's the idler pully that sits at the top of the belt run, just left of center. I plan on replacing that this weekend.
Obviously any belt driven component up there has bearings and could squeak if they're worn severly. Most likely candidates, IME, are idler pulley and air pump. But it does sound like your tensioner has issues. I can barely make mine move w/a 12" breaker bar, and it moves easily w/an 18".
