I plan to install a sway bar on my M11 front set up.I would like to know if I can use a rear sway bar with a 22 gallon mustang fuel tank mounted between the rails.
That is the one I plan to use on mine as well (84 BII). Do not get an explorer rear sway bar. They mount on the rear of the axle. That would more than likely get in the way of the tank. That is not a guarantee, but it is not worth taking a chance on it hitting.
Oh...the BII rear bar, just bolts though the frame (see the arms on his pic). I put one on my old ranger.
thanks. i have a rear sway bar on a axle i have laying down at the shop but was wondering how to connect it to the frame. now i have to find the front.
Thanks for all the help guys.I see that the pic showing the Bronco11 bar is on a F100 frame and I forgot to mention that my truck is a F1.Sorry.Will this bar work on a F1?
Somebody may have a more deffinate answer for this, but I believe that the frame width on the 53's is the same as the prior F-series frames. That's why you can bolt up a rear end from 48-63+ (I know, as I've got a 63 F100 rear under my truck that was bolted in place of the original rear). Therefore, you shouldn't have a problem.

My truck is a 48 F3 but I'm using the original gas tank. Perhaps this picture of my aftermarket rear anti-sway bar will show you how much room you have back there. The bar bolts low and close to the rear end so I do not think you will have any clearance problems with a rear frame mounted gas tank.
