1997 Ford F150 Computer Problem? Help

I Have A 1997 F150. A Few Days Ago The Temp Guage Went Totally Down And Then Pegged And At The Same Time The Oil Light Came On. I Immediately Shut The Truck Off And Raised The Hood, Checked The Oil It Was Full And There Was No Signs Of Over Heating Problems. After Getting Back In The Truck And Starting It All Guages And The Truck Was Fine. This Has Happened About 3 Days In A Row. I Had Advance Hook Up Their Scanner And That Did No Good. But I Have Had A Couple Of People Say That Possibly The Engine Control Computer Was Going Bad. Any Help Or Ideas Would Be Greatly Appreciated. Thanks

We had one a while ago, that the battery went bad. It took out the alternator. I would have the battery & alternator tested on the truck first. Make sure you have good cable connections. Good luck

You do not have a computer problem. You have either a charging/power distribution fault or a flaky instrument cluster that is intermittent

Had an Explorer that the cluster would go nuts every time I got in it. Had the instrument cluster replaced and the problem was fixed..
