So, my front passenger side axle shafts are mangled, the u-joint apparently exploded or something, because it's not there.
I ordered a new inner, outer, and u-joint, and i was wondering what kind of stuff i'd run into during the replacement process. seals, bearings, anything special i should check?
Also, it's been driven a bit with the shaft like that, but not in 4wd, and the inner shaft slid out a few inches. is this a sign of something broken or missing?
Also, if someone could explain to me, via reply or PM, what the point is of t-case doubling/twin-sticking, that'd be cool, i'm curious.
Inspect the area that the u-joint sits in. Often times the hole wil become damaged, or out of round. If it becomes egg shaped, or damaged, it will not place even pressure on the u-joint cap, and failure will be sooner than you know.
