Is there a big difference in pulling a deck over verses a regular trailer? I am wondering mostly about the higher center of gravity with the deck over. Not having to worry about the fenders and the extra width would be a benefit but would the deck over benefits outweigh the higher center of gravity?
I was wondering about a tandem axle, single wheel, 14,000LB gross equipment trailer. I have looked at both and the deck over was 35" at the bed and the drive between the fenders was 17". The only trailers I have towed before were drive between fender ones rated at 7,000lbs and 14,000lbs.
my dad's deckover bumper pull, the deck is only about 6 inches higher than a trailer with the fenders on the sides, and its much wider and you can haul wider vehicles. also another benefit of a deckover is that if you use a forklift you can load and un load pallets much easier b/c theres nothing to get in the way of the forks. Just my 2 cents. This trailer is a mustang by the way.

Your big difference is goiong to be that you can haul wider loads. You will just have to take it very easy on turns do to the high center of gravity. If you are hauling cars with it I would be careful. There is a pretty good chance that a small car will bottom out on your ramps or scrape the bumpers.
