Surprised....I beat a newer F150

It was from a rolling start, he was on my friggin butt for a while and when we got 2 lanes I let him get beside me, then I stomped on it. To my surprise I left him no problem and the gap was getting larger even at 120 kms/hr. Both trucks were pretty much identical, 4x4's and supercabs, and yes he had a 5.4l badge on the truck.
I have done some mods to the truck but I don't think they added up to too
much hp's, I really do believe those models are extremely heavy and the little extra power they have over mine don't help much.

Why would you be surprised? The '04+ F-150s are signifigantly heavier. They might have 50 hp more, but the added weight of the new frame and Quietsteel pretty much negates the added power.

The tuner helped me out for sure, I held rpms a little bit longer a WOT.

Watch out for the Chevys with a 5.3l, you will smoke them from the start, but went they get up to steam, you will be smelling Chevy exhaust.

Smart move is to let the Dodge go on by,my company truck is a 2004 Dodge 2500 4X4 with the HEMI,I brought it home one night just to see.... Long story short, dont try it,I thought I broke something on my 2000 F150 4x4 I got so far behind so fast. The Dodge makes tons of power, but get it in the mud and U car run rings around them. All my company truck does is spin and sink,My F150 has the torque to dig my way out of stickey situations. Of course ours arent race trucks, theres the Lightning for that.....

Yea the Hemi with the big hoods look awesome its a big truck and will move out, Im not one to race much, I have,nt drove the new chevy lately, I like to go and make the local dealers think Im going to trade in my ride and test drive all the trucks, that way you can size up the competition lol, either way I will look better going down the road im my older F150..Truck...

Well having owned both trucks, an 01’ Crew Cab 5.4, 3.55’s and the current one. I’ll say off the line the 07 would have smoked my 01, but there will be certain rpm ranges and speeds when I think the 01 would have accelerated faster.

That’d be the seat of my pants Dyno... very sophisticated piece of technology there. I think the key difference is really in the gears for me, but from a dead stop there is a significant difference. Maybe someday I’ll line up with the new owner and know for sure how it matches up, but I doubt it
