If I'm going to change my own oil. Is there any oil filter that|I should be looking for. Does anyone recommend a type of filter or just what ford sells?
fram or motorcraft both can be had at wally world...both made by racor which is OEM and the only filters that should be used in the 6.0 motor. fram is 5 dollars cheaper than the MC at wally.
Exactly what he said... in case you want another answer.
Look for the felt on the bottom of the oil filter.
If you look in my gallery, there are pictures of what to look for... and yes, Framm and Motorcraft are the way to go... and some other auto parts stores carry Framm and Motorcraft filters.
Also, if you have a Pep boys near you the Fram filters go on sale every now and then for $3.50 with a coupon. Someone usually bumps a thread in here called "They're Back" when the coupon comes back. I've been having my friends near Chicago pick them up for me when they can. I've got 6 now.
