Exclamation Cat back exhaust

I am looking for a cat back system for my 07 fx4 5.4l. I looked at the Borla but
then found the Roush to be a lot cheaper. Although the roush legal exhaust
doesn't sound much louder than stock and if that is the case what is the point.
Is the roush offroad too loud ? Iam looking for a sound if I punch it it gets noticed but for normal driving it gives a nice rumble slightly louder than stock. Since I haven't heard any of these exhausts it makes my descision more difficult. SOMEBODY SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS?

they arent better, most are bolt on, can fall off, over priced, and sometimes low quality. Go to a muffler shop, tell them the setup/muffler you want and they can get you set up in about an hour or two with a inexpensive, great sounding exhaust. Muffler shops have the tools, pipe, and mufflers and they can offer the setups a lot cheaper than the big name companies do. I myself use neither on any of my cars or any of my buddies. We all weld really good, I have the tools to cut the pipe and if we need a bend we just get the muffler shop to bend it for free. Our systems are way way cheaper than both the shops and the bolt on kits. We put a single chamber flwmaster, Single in/Dual out setup like the lightning trucks have coming out the side on my friends 95 for around 100 bucks. muffler was 45 at the junkyard so we saved a lot there but still 200 bucks for a damn good sounding well built exhaust is pretty darn good price.

I spent 325$ on my wife MAGNA FLOW cat bat system for her 97 expy.
In my opinion the flowmaster products are over rated (some poeple will
atest to that) thats why I went Magnaflow

Thanks for all the input, these are all really good arguments. I tend to agree with the
HP and mileage hype. I just want a cool sounding exhaust that looks good. I am leaning
toward the dual rear exit.

Cuz I can tell your the unconvincable type of guy. But to
me the sound of a hollow can with a baffle does'nt sound
nice to tinny and raspy, I prefer the sound of magnaflow.

I think he has a flowmaster confused with one of those Fart Can rice burner mufflers! Yah go to any truck meet or mustang meet and ask everyone what exhaust they have, I bet you 90% of them have flowmasters! Not that MagnaCrap s#!t lol sorry im a flowmaster guy and i dont like ppl knockin my mufflers!

First off im not confused with the type of muffler, and second I do go to all my local
auto shows and not 90% of them have Flowmaster exhuast, it's more like 1/2 n 1/2,
pal. And since my idea of a muffler is different than your hollow chamber with a baffle
thats my opinion. And thirdly Im not knockin your choice of pos mufflers, just stating
that there not my choice for better performance.
See I can come off as a tough guy too, behind this keyboard.

Sure, just like all those people with the Tornado in their intakes. Follow the herd much?

Just because so many people have them doesnt make them any better. If you dont like people "knockin your mufflers", then at least get a decent muffler.

Marketing FTW....
