hey guys
here is brief description:
i changed injectors to stage3 MiniMee, got new glow plugs in, changed turbo to H2E, button everything up, and now i have a little problem , or maybe not
after a little fight to get the truck started it smoked white bluish smoke run rough for a littlebit and cleared up, now i waited for few minutes , than i took it for a gentle spin around the block, and everytime i let of the trotle its running rough like loop idle than clears up, and it smokes a little, after i turn the truck off, its hard to get it started i have to keep cranking it than pressure jumps up and truck starts - is this normal after injector replacement?
or i have problem somwhere
please let me know , if anyne can help , i dont have any SES light or check engine ,,,,
thanks
Peter

it should be i just got it back from Jody , and i think im missing some programs, so i have to call him tommorrow
would that cause harder starts?
thanks for response Alan
When I installed my Stage III single shot I had horrible idle and smoke problems. I new I needed a chip to run it right and I installed it at the same time as the injs but I didnt clean the contacts on the chip. Stupid me. Anyway sounds like a chip problem to me. You will still have a rough idle idle w/stageIII, sounds like you got a cam.
hey Tim, my idle is ok, its almost the same as before, and once i let off the idle is bad , and once it gets stable its not smoking
my question to you is, how long did it take your truck to get the oil out of the HPO rails, and would this have anything to do with it ?
im thinking i have to take for longer spin, i just have to put my Stacks on, all i have now is DP hanging on the turbo, and its loud like M-er
ill get on it tommorrow and than will see,
let me know Tim how long afer injector replacement took you to get it run good
It can take a while for all the air in the system to work itself out, it took about 30 to 40 minutes of driving for my truck to start acting right after only changing 1 injector.
than i have to drive for an hour or so, not just idle on a driveway
so i guess i have to finish my exhaust asap,
and the air in the system would cause hard starts right?
thanks guys
I ran without the chip for probably 2 days then pulled the chip, cleaned the contacts and installed it again. Then it ran fine but w/a rough idle which I understand is normal. I did this almost two years ago so I don't really remember how long it took to clear the air out of the system but I would imagine a 1/2 hour would be plenty. The only time I smoke is when I get heavy in the foot and then it heavy black smoke mixed with white tire smoke. GOD help you if your on my left. They call me the Squid.
I had the same thing happen a couple of days ago. I thought I screwed something up putting it back together. I believe it was the fact that the oil leaked out of the HPO system. It cleared up after a mile or so, and really quieted down after another 15 or so.
