I went to pull my work gloves out of the driver's door pocket on my '88 F250 and found that they were pretty wet (it had rained rather hard here a few days ago).
Just double checking - is a bad lower window weather strip the only real way this could have happened? Mine look like the original and are pretty dry. If so, what's a good outfit (i.e., cheap) to buy a replacement from? Can I get just this one piece / strip and are they super easy to install without taking a lot of other things off?
LMC truck sells them....like $20 plus shipping I'm sure JC Whitney would have them too. I got mine for my 92 at the dealer...$20 each...inner and outer......they did have to order the inner. Very easy to install...old one pulls up and off.....new one clips back in and down.
I'm not sure they would be the problem though.....it might be the door weatherstripping........attaches to the cab abd the door closes against it. It's sposed to go all the way around where the door closes and if some is gone or bad it could let some water in.
Also...my pocket is up front..under the vent window....it might be leaking too
Both places would have all that stuff......LMC's catalog is easier to figure out which you need. The vent window is the hardest to replace. I think you have to take it out.
Good Luck
