460 Build up questions

Hello, I am in the process of starting a 460 build up for my 1984 F-150 2wd. This will be for everyday driving and towing/hauling. What I have is a fresh built 460 short block. I have a brand new set of Ford Motorsport old style aluminum Cobra Jet heads. My short block is a stock compression 1976 Lincoln short block. The camshaft that I want to use is a Comp Cams X4270H (226@.050 / 234@.050) .554 / .574 on a 111 CL. The power range is 1600 to 5800 rpm. I want to top it off with a Edelbrock Performer RPM intake (just to match port size.) a 600 holley carb (for throttle response and economy), the L&L headers and a good 3" into a 2 1/2" exhaust system. My question is will my cylinder head choice hurt my over all combo. Has any one tried a closly built combo and do they have any feed back.

The 600 CFM carb may be too small for you to be able to tune it correctly. Look more towards a 750 CFM carb if you can't tune it. Everything else looks like a good match. The stock 20cc dish pistons will keep the compression in a sane region. Be aware that cam has about 12-14 Hg of vacuum, depending on tune, so you may have some issues with the power break booster working corectly. I had one installed in my 460 before it was eaten. A vacuum canistor might be a good idea to add to the system.
